Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Sankri

Your journey begins with your arrival at Sankri Village, which is approximately 200 km from Dehradun. Once at Sankri, check into Meraki Sankri Homestay (or a similar property). Meet your trek guide and take the rest of the day to relax or explore the charming Sankri Village. The homestay offers a warm, cozy atmosphere, and if time permits, you can stroll around the village and experience local culture and traditions.

Day 2: Sankri – Taluka – Poani Gharat/Seema

The day begins with a short 12 km drive from Sankri to Taluka, the starting point of your trek. From here, begin the 14 km trek to Poani Gharat or Seema. The trail winds through dense forests of chestnut, walnut, and chinars, offering a scenic journey along the Supin River. Cross wooden bridges over small streams and make occasional climbs as you pass through the region’s charming Jaunsari villages. You’ll catch sight of the picturesque Gangad Village with its unique wooden houses along the riverbank. After approximately 6–7 hours of trekking, arrive at Seema or Poani Gharat, where you’ll camp for the night.

Day 3: Poani Gharat/Seema – Seematra

After breakfast, the trek continues to Seematra, an 8 km journey through a mix of meadows and ascents. Cross a giant bridge over the Supin River and begin a steep climb. The trail gradually becomes less demanding as you ascend over lush green meadows, revealing stunning views of the Debsu Thatch and Ruinsara Valley. The majestic Kala Nag (Black Peak) and Banderpunch range will come into view as you trek. You will camp for the night at Seematra, enjoying the serene beauty of the area.

Day 4: Seematra – Har Ki Dun – Poani Gharat/Seema

Start your day early with a hearty breakfast before beginning the trek to Har Ki Dun. This region, located within the Govind Ballabh Pant Wildlife Reserve, is rich in flora and fauna. The trail will take you past lush forests and streams as you ascend towards Har Ki Dun, situated at the base of Hata Peak. The breathtaking valley opens up, and you’ll find a beautiful camping site near a calm stream. After soaking in the spectacular views, retrace your steps back to Seema or Poani Gharat, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 5: Seema – Taluka – Sankri

After breakfast, begin the 12 km trek back to Taluka, passing through the forests and villages you encountered earlier. Once at Taluka, a vehicle will transfer you back to Sankri. After the day’s exertion, relax at Meraki Homestay or a similar property in Sankri.
