Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Sagar Village

Arrive at Sagar Village, the starting point of the Rudranath trek. At 1,568 meters, Sagar Village is a charming place that provides a peaceful setting for acclimatization before the trek. If time permits, explore the village and visit the local temple dedicated to Sagar. Enjoy a comfortable stay at a hotel or homestay as you prepare for the trek ahead.

Day 2: Sagar Village to Panar Bugyal (12 km trek)

The trek begins early in the morning from Sagar Village. After a couple of hours of trekking, you will arrive at Pun Bugyal, a scenic meadow. The trail then takes you through dense forests, crossing multiple streams and offering sightings of various flora and fauna. This forested section is one of the densest in the region and provides a perfect introduction to the wilderness of Garhwal. After a packed lunch, you will continue trekking through changing vegetation and stunning landscapes until you reach Panar Bugyal. The meadows of Panar are famous for their soft, grassy carpet, offering trekkers a chance to relax and enjoy the serenity. Overnight stay at Panar in tents or shacks.

Day 3: Panar Bugyal to Rudranath (16 km trek) and back to Panar

An early start is crucial on this day as you embark on a 16 km trek to Rudranath. After a few kilometers, you will reach Pitradhar ridge, where you can enjoy panoramic views of Himalayan peaks like Chaukhamba and Kedarnath. From here, the trek descends slightly before crossing the Naola Pass. After a 4 km trek, you will arrive at Rudranath, a sacred temple dedicated to Lord Shiva where his face is worshipped as "Nilkanth Mahadev." After spending time at the temple and enjoying a packed lunch, you will trek back to Panar Bugyal for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Panar Bugyal to Mandal via Anusuya Devi Temple (12 km trek)

After breakfast, the trek begins with a descent towards Mandal village. On the way, you have the option to visit the famous Anusuya Devi Temple, adding a spiritual touch to your journey. The scenic trail passes through beautiful forests and meadows. Upon reaching Mandal, you can either take a cab or continue walking to Sagar Village, where you'll stay for the night.

Day 5: Departure from Sagar Village
